Ingredients:
1 cup Masoor Dal, soaked for few hours,
1 big onion, chopped,
3 garlic cloves,
5 green chillies,
8-10 curry leaves,
1 tsp rai (mustard seeds),
1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds),
1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves,
Salt to taste,
Oil,
Water.
Method:
In a pressure cooker add dal, water, garlic, turmeric powder and salt. Pressure cook dal up to 4 whistles. When dal is cooked blend it using a spoon or a whisk or hand blender.
In a kadhai or a deep pan heat little oil, when its hot put mustard seeds, when they splutter add jeera, green chillies, curry leaves and chopped onion and saute till the onion turns golden in color. Then add some salt and chopped coriander leaves mix well and then add the dal. Add water if required. Simmer it till dal boils.
Serve with jeera rice or rotis.
