I prepare this recipe regularly at home. It is very simple and withing few ingredients that are easily available at home. Hope you like it.
Ingredients:
1 cup kala chana; washed and soaked overnight in some water,
2 onions; finely chopped,
1 tsp jeera (optional),
1 tsp minced garlic,
1″ piece ginger,
1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
3/4 tsp red chilli powder,
1/2 tsp garam masala (optional),
1/4 cup freshly chopped coriander leaves,
Salt to taste,
Oil for tempering.
Method:
Boil the chana with some salt and ginger. In a deep pan, heat some oil, add jeera and let it splutter. To it add onions and saute until they become soft. Then add turmeric, red chilli and fry for 2 minutes. Leave around 1/2 cup boiled chana in the container and transfer remaining to the pan. Now mash this remaining chana and then add it too to the pan. Season with some salt and stir well. Add garam masala if you want. Sprinkle coriander leaves, cover and bring to boil. Add water if required. Serve hot with chapatis or parathas.
