Ingredients:
1/2 cup whole or split moong,
1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
1 green chilli;
1/2 tsp red chilli powder,
1/2 tsp jeera (cumin seeds),
6 cloves garlic,
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste,
Water,
Oil.
Method:
Soak the moong in some water overnight. Next day, drain the moong and put into the grinder, add all the ingredients except water and oil. Now grind all the ingredients coarsely. Add some water and grind again. Continue this process till you get a not so coarse batter. When ready, heat a non-stick tava or a griddle. Season it with oil* and spread a spoonful of batter on it to form a thin round, similar to dosa. Serve with coriander chutney.
*Avoid oil if you are watching out for calories. Use of a non-stick pan does not require oil.
This dhirda/dosa is very healthy and quite filling. Hence could be served as breakfast or can be an ideal meal at the time of travel.
